Early 2009, David Flamée launched Sketch: a support office for fashion and a PR office 'new style'. He combines this job with a full-time function at the MoMu fashion museum in Antwerp, where he works at the communication department.
Sketch is David Flamée's new take on public relations, press and support. A completely new concept where 'PR' stands for building bridges between young fashion designers and the international fashion network that David has established over the years. 'Press' implies his link with the best Belgian and international press contacts, whereas 'support' will have an even bigger impact on the collaboration. Here Sketch wants to give advice and tips regarding various aspects regarding the fashion field.
Crucial in all this is the blank page. The so-called starting from scratch. Focused all the way. And never hollow. The ultimate goal is a new sketch… based on fresh ideas.
Potential clients can be fashion designers, established fashion labels, or organisations that have a link with fashion.
David Flamée studied communication at the Arteveldehogeschool in Ghent (1999-2001). Immediately afterwards he started working at the FFI as a project manager and quickly became one of the strong pillars of the institute. During seven years, he had a strong hand in projects such as VITRINE and Showroom Antwerp during Paris Fashion week, and represented the FFI on foreign missions to Barcelona, Florence and Athens. He was keen on coaching young design talent and was a happy go-between for press, buyers and fashion professionals.
Since 2002, David is closely involved in coordinating all press and interview queries for the fashion department at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp (Artesis). He also coordinates press and jury for the annual graduation show.
